Part V
In Week 5 of Be Generous, Pastor Ann wraps up the series by reminding us that generosity isn’t just something we do — it’s who we become. After learning about generosity in worship, encouragement, time, and forgiveness, this week focuses on what Scripture teaches about being generous with our finances.
Drawing from analogies, biblical truth, and stories we can all relate to, Pastor Ann taught that every act of generosity declares one powerful message: “God, I trust You.”
God isn’t measuring the amount we give — He’s looking at the heart behind it. Just like a parent delights in a child who joyfully gives a gift bought with the parent's own money, our Heavenly Father smiles when we use His resources to bless others.
Pastor Ann reminded us:
• Generosity is spiritual warfare—it dethrones the false god of “more” and places our trust back in Jesus.
• Money reveals the heart—we can’t serve both God and mammon.
• Scarcity is a lie—God promises that those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
• Generosity writes you into God’s story—from the boy with the loaves and fish to the widow with the mite, God uses generous people to change lives.
As Generosity Week kicks off, we’re invited to live open-handed, remembering that blessings are meant to flow through us, not just to us.
Because the most generous people on earth should be the ones who know they’ve already been given everything in Christ.
